Unwanted visitor in the lights the other night...

Yall have heard me talk about the Alligator Gar swimin around Laffite's cove. Well, I have seen him in the lights a couple times but on Friday, the wind chill was like 30 at night and I see a big dark thing come over the lights and at first, seemed like it was the Gar.. until I saw four short legs, a broad snout and a undulating tail. A CROCODILE?? yup. It was swimming and then bent in a 90 degree angle and dove. Last I saw of it. It was about 6 ft.

You can call B.S. if you want. But I know what I saw. I thought it would be WAY WAY too cold for them. Makes me want to yell at people letting their dogs swim around in the canal. What a horrible sight that would be.

never too cold. I found a couple snakes the other day moving around when there was frost on the ground. Put a line out and catch it.

A 6 foot Rattle Snake was killed on Tiki New Years Eve. Had gators in the Tiki canals before as well as Bayou Vista.
Many years ago I hepled two Game Wardens remove a 6 footer from a Bayou Vista canal.

Maybe that was the rattler I ran into on the tracks next to Bayou Vista. I wanna carry a pistol with snake shot. That would be sweet
