One of the things I love about fishing

Thats what im talking about. My wife once asked me why I like fishing so much. I said I dont know I just like it. I then took her out for a sunrise like before the sun came up out of the blue she said its so peacefull out here and then the sun came up and she said now I know why you enoy it so much. She caught a keeper red and a gar we cut loose and she is hooked. She cant stand the wind or rough water but is dying to get back out on those ice craem days.Bottom line is it is not just catching fish that make it so addictive. It is all the things you see during the day. Those include the blow ups ,tail walking trout, pole bending,tailing reds, it also includes the wind in your face while on the run, the birds in the marsh, the bait jumping and all the other things you see while out fishing(dont forget the newbies at the boat ramp). You meet so many people that enjoy the same thing and it is a sport that crosses many demographic boundaries.

Now if you throw the kids into the equation it take the sport to a whole different level. Nothing better than seeing a kid catch their first fish. Teaching them to drive a boat and navigate( who cares if they crash it up a bit). Seeing them learn where, when and what to fish with. I just wacthed my newphew show me how he had mastered the looped knot. Then he went on to show me he knew the blood knot,bowline and cinch knot. 13 yo and I am proud of him.Man I just cant say enough about how much fun fishing is for me and to pass it on the others. Pass it on and take a kid fishing even if they are not yours. I'll end my rant with one of my faorite saying . It is from the movie Shawshank Redemption. " Get busy living or get busy dying" life is short my friends get it on!!!

I enjoy taking kids fishing & see their faces light up when they catch a fish,for me,it does not get any better than that. I enjoy watching other people catch fish. Making memories is what its all about.

YES SIR! I feel the same way. Love watching kids and newbies catch fish! Or just anyone fishing...
