  • New Guy and rod here

Hi Y'all, been fishing on and off over the years since a youngster back in Scotland with my first rainbow trout on a wet fly. Since then its been casting the rod all over the place when I have time. However, we now have another fishing related interest with the hotel business we started here in Texas (Three Rivers Inn and Suites), one in Three Rivers near Choke Canyon and its Bass stock and up in Port Arthur where we have many folks and there boats stay with us before fishing up on Sabine lake and in the pass. Funny thing in Port Arthur our General Manager Diana has been bitten by the bug and she is out on the water most weekends usually at Rayburn or Sabine, all thanks to the fishing folks staying at the hotel (she even the great idea to introduced free troll motor charging for our guests, or was it for herself lol ). Well, great to be here on the forum and look forward to reading many interesting posts.

WELCOME ! So , are you Scottish ? My father's parents were from Montrose , Scotland . Married and came to Houston . He had several sea captain brothers . One got him to come to Houston , another almost persuaded him to join him in South Africa . Phew , good choice . Bowman is a minor clan I understand usually affiliated with a larger clan like McGregor or Campbell . I don't know which one . Bowman were professional long bowmen back when . I love massed pipes and drums . Grandfather was in the Black Watch . This is more than you would ever care to know so I'll shut up .
