I have only used the original. The reason I use the 30 is that it is 8lb mono diameter and the 20 is much more difficult to get backlashes out since it is 6 lb diameter (not that I would ever get a backlash..lol) and I like to horse reds when fishing schools or in the marsh. I will sometimes cast over the grass and then horse them over.Originally posted by jrcaruso09 View Postwhat type of sufix do you like to use
I hear the fins windtamer is awesome, so I am ordering it this week.

MAXIMA 12 lb. mono on the recommendation from an old salt. Before that, P-LINE EVOLUTION 12 lb. mono. The P-LINE is smaller diameter for same pound test. I've been pleased with both.

I've been using Fins Windtamer 30# since the first of april and have been happy with it. I just had to get use to using braid.

I've got 50# Power Pro on all of my inshore rigs, it has the same diameter as 12# mono and I can cast it a mile.

I've been stuck on 14lb stren for years.. I'm sure there are much better options -- I tend to get stuck in a rut and stay there -- I'm working on it though. I look forward to seeing what some of the more experienced guys have to say on the subject.
