  • Replacing trolling motor

Hey folks, could use a lil help. Removed a MG 37# 12v. 3 wires (10g black, red, orange) running from battery. Replacement is a MK 70# 24v (only 24v) that appears to have 8g black/red wires coming out of it. Trying to figure out if I can use current 10g wiring or should I rewire with 8 or possibly even 6? Also bought a 50a in line breaker per the MK user guide for trolling motor. I'm new to all of this and just want to do it correctly. I've got the diagram for 24v batteries....thanks in advance for any help!,

Minn Kota has a rigging guide here:

In effect, if the length of the wires are below 10 feet go with a 10ga., if exceeds 10 ft, go with an 8 ga.

Solder all your connections & shrink wrap them.
