  • Schaub to start against Colts

Case Keenum was solid in his NFL debut, a 17-16 loss at Kansas City, but he didn’t change coach Gary Kubiak’s mind about the starting position.

“Matt’s our starting quarterback,” Kubiak said of the veteran Schaub. “Case played this week.”

Kubiak said he would re-evaulate the position during the Texans’ bye week.

Keenum went 15-of-25 for 271 yards and a touchdown in his debut. His quarterback rating of 110.6 was higher than any of Schaub’s this season.

“Players responded well to Case,” Kubiak said. “They were very confident with him, and it came from the week of practice.”

Schaub sat Sunday’s game with a foot/ankle injury.

“Matt and (backup) T.J. (Yates) did a good job helping prepare Case to get ready to play,” Kubiak said.

In the four previous games to his injury, Schaub set an NFL record with four straight games with an interception returned for a touchdown.

Good. Put Schaub in and when he loses, Kubiak and second stringer Schaub can both look for new jobs next year!!

The fans don't want Schaub and soon will want Kubiak gone.

x2. Losiak just doesn't want to come out and say it. He loves squab too much to hurt his feelings.

I was a Squab & Kubiak defender for a lot of years, but no more. They both gotta go. Squab is obviously washed up and Kubiak just has a loser mentality as illustrated by the way he called the end of the first half in the KC game. I'm not sure Keenum is the long term answer, but in the KC game he was pretty solid and did things that neither Schaub or Yates is capable of doing.

schaub might start the game but i'll bet that he won't finish it. He is just one play from being replaced...lets just hope its early enough so he can't do too much damage while he's in there.

I think 4 pick 6's in a row already did the damage Gus (add Yates and woo hoo-we got 5 x 5). I don't see the team doing anything except maybe bettering next year's draft pick as a bottom runger on the NFL ladder.
