Giants just put some more money in my pocket. Thanks Boch. You're fast becoming the premiere manager in baseball, well except for Jim Leyland. Aunt Nancy and I appreciate the way you came from 2 down to close the door with your back to the wall. From the third string catcher for the Astros to what they need to keep from losing another 100 games next year. LMAO. Congrats again.

You need to thank Buster and Romo!!!!!!! They showed a lot of heart...Leland puzzles me...makes bizarre moves...million bucks says If Papa too fat Grande takes the bump again to close it out he chokes...now Verlander can't rest for a weekend and be game 1 starter...

Leyland is puzzling to some. He seems to find the post season pretty regularly. As far as mucho grande I think you have a safe bet. he'll be pitching in the Mexican leauge next year.

Despite the chicken chit Holliday episode my boys evened the series. I know what the ball clubs I played on would do in that situation. Oh wait it's only game 2, get ready for Pablo the bear to crack Descalvo's arse on the next double play ball. Get 'em Boch.

Whateva! Holliday is a good, clean, hard-nosed baseball player!

Apologies to Giants fans. It was a dirty play and there's no excuse for it. If he had started the slide sooner, then my first assessment would have been correct. Slide started at the bag = dirty play.

                Oh, it's Descalso.

I think I disagree Sandy...listening to several players this morning (no Giants or Cards) and all of them seem to agree that it was a tough aggressive play...I think dirty goes too far. They each say that this is the payoffs and every out counts. They did also say that on a play like that the Giants SHOULD take out the 2b or ss in a similar slide and that it would be accepted. Also pointed out the baseball gods are always watching hence the error...

                  Maybe I'm too old school

Trust me. Holliday is a bull but he knows it's not over. It's already in his head, hence the boot on the single turned two base error and base clearing play. Enjoy knowledgable fans and their takes especially when they played the game.

Pretty good article on the situation on Yahoo's MLB page. Holliday knew he did wrong. Believe me, I played until I was 26 and coached the game for 16 years. I am as old school as it gets. But old school and hard nosed does not mean dirty. If he had started his slide sooner and hit him, I'd call it a clean play. He knows he started his slide too late and he admitted as much to Buster Posey. After the game, he was apologetic. He scrawed up, but at least he's forthright about it and not pretending he didn't scraw up. I'm inclined to believe he is honest about being more worried about Scutaro, and not about any retaliation he might endure.

As for betting on baseball, it's a fool's errand. Don't do it too much.

I guess I can take Hollidays word and give him the benefit of the doubt about his feelings. If the Giants find him to be sincere the episode may slide by. As far as betting I'm no Pete Rose but I find a friendly wager on sports my cup of tea, however I must admit I do feel a little foolish when I lose.

Betting on sports is fun for most people, but baseball is a game of so may variables that it makes it REALLY tough to bet on.
