MG is full of sheit and doesn't have a clue what hes talking about as usual.

What if the moon fell in the gulf of mexico will be his next response. Never answers anything heads on.

And its impossible to kill a big oil company. Wont happen. Jesse Jones in his heyday had more $$ than the federal government. The Feds and the State of Alaska just thought they beat Exxon. 27 years later or so and still haven't collected.

Mr J. quit listening to those 3 college dropouts Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh and listen to a PhD news caster, Rachel Maddow.
I take it you want it to be lowered ?

If its raised, 1.8 million Americans will no longer need or be eligible for government assistance. So is that a savings or an expenditure or a debit or a credit to Americans ?
Are you ready for inflation? When O&O for a business goes up, it is passed on to the consumer. If the demand for the product is not there, then the business folds. When the business folds, there is no employees (Union or not). When there is fewer businesses and fewer people employed, there is less revenue (taxes) for the government. When there is less revenue for the government, we fall deeper in debt as a country..., let the business decide, not the government or media polls.

Oh, and I cancelled out your straight ticket vote today when I cast my vote. Have a good night and tight lines tomorrow if you go fishing.

I've been working all over the US in the oil patch the last year and can tell you there are so many high paying jobs and opportunities out there its unreal. If you aren't happy flipping burgers at Mcdonalds...get a CDL and drive a truck in Texas, work on a rig, work in construction....I meet a lot of young guys making close to 6 figures with no GED..What's so special about them? They get off their *** every morning and work till the sun goes down and earn every buck they take home.

Put me in Rachael Maddow's 20%. Hell, I think the MW is too high now.

Minimum wage jobs ARE NOT careers.

I'm in the 80% that pays every employee well above the minimum wage. How much you YOUR employees make?

                          Atta way Boom!!
Here is some numbers from NY Times. I cannot believe some of the comments that these men are making.

Minimum-wage workers are older than they used to be. Their average age is 35, and 88 percent are at least 20 years old. Half are older than 30, and about a third are at least 40.
Workers with families. Hard workers. They all deserve better from places such as Mc Donalds, Burger King, Walmarts.
In the states that have raised the minimum wage their unemployment has gone down and businesses are thriving because of more $$ in circulation.

I remember when Reagan wanted to lower the minimum wage and my 16 yr old son was working at Krogers(union). I told him if they do then to quit cause I didn't want my son to be someones slave. Still don't.

Some of you guys are hilarious, and Mr Troop, I'll vote next Tuesday and will cancel yours as well. But that's okay, as my precinct here in Alvin has 2500 voters and in 2012 election for prez only 210 voted democratic.
                          The struggle goes on.

Think I'll get up from my morning nap and go fishing.

mgstei....I do not have a PhD...I do have a grad school under my belt and over 20 years working in this industry...not oil...the capital markets. The % of people who own stock quote...you misunderstand...go back and look at my post...INSTITUTIONAL ownership is the key. You are looking at how many INDIVIDUALS own stock. You are correct there. However, pension funds, state and local funds, all mutual funds...these are institutional. So folks who receive pensions DO depend on Exxon stock...they are one of the widest held companies in the world. The majority of people do not know HOW their pension money is created or where it comes from. That is fine and I have no issue with that. However, I do think that folks SHOULD try to learn as much as possible about where their money comes from but that's just me. You can fact check if you like and you will see that my %'s are as of Tuesday's market close. I hope I am not coming across as bombastic at all in this post as I am not. Just trying to educate...

How this thread got on to minimum wage is beyond me. The entire point of this thread is ownership of Exxon stock.

If they are 35 years old and earn minimum wage, they should have left Burger King a long time ago and learned a trade.
