Prisoner Exchange & The Policy of "Optics"

Looking through my prism and the optics I see, are a relieved family getting a loved one back from war, accomplished by the greatest military on earth whose boss fully understands, that the commitment to leave no man behind, means what it means at all costs no matter the political implications he is receiving.
My optics also see other issues that still remain and over 500 elected politicians that need and should get off their arses and get to work on the job we all elected them to do.

I'm going fish catching to polish my prism and see more optics and to ease my mind of the worlds problems.

Tahmooressi is no longer an active duty Marine. He is suffering from PTSD and right before he was arrested he was given the name "spiderman" because of his attempted escapes and actually stabbed himself in his neck with a broken light bulb.
He needs help also and his family needs help getting the Mexican Gov to release him.
In time they will as they have others.
My thoughts is to trade him for 5 more Gitmo dudes and let the Mexicans handle them.

Hopefully those "Gitmo Dudes", as you call them, won't murder any of your family members. Wake up-put the kool-aid down and please try to think as to the big picture. Would you trade a burglar for a rapist and be comfy knowing your daughter or granddaughters are now in the rapists sights-I would not. Pretty much the same thing by letting 5 known to have US Blood on their hands free to go kill again. Hopefully, some child with bombs strapped to them by these 5 terrorists won't murder US Citizens. 400 rounds my friend. He was armed to the teeth and went into a country that does not recognize an armed anything other than the law enforcement folks. He was suffering from PTSD and needs help just like way too many of our military.
The decision to free Bergdahl was a major but needed decision.
I'm proud and glad we did what we had to do.
As far as known deserters there has only been 1 since the Civil War and that was during WWII.
If our military knows that the American citizens will not support or come get them in whatever circumstance they are taken, then we will no longer have a volunteer military.
I agree with saving Bergdahl and also the ex-marine in Mexico. Different stories but still Americans.

Okay, I stand corrected. Only 1 received death which is the maximum sentence.

And No, Bergdahl should not be thrown outa of a helicopter until proven guilty.
