Party of the rich: In Congress, it's the Democrats

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republicans are the party of the rich, right? It's a label that has stuck for decades, and you're hearing it again as Democrats complain about GOP opposition to raising the minimum wage and extending unemployment benefits.
The richest: New York's 12th Congressional District, which includes Manhattan's Upper East Side, as well as parts of Queens and Brooklyn. Democrat Carolyn Maloney is in her 11th term representing the district. But in Congress, the wealthiest among us are more likely to be represented by a Democrat than a Republican. Of the 10 richest House districts, only two have Republican congressmen. Democrats claim the top six, sprinkled along the East and West coasts. Most are in overwhelmingly Democratic states like New York and California.
Per capita income in Maloney's district is $75,479. That's more than $75,000 a year for every man, woman and child. The next highest income district, which runs along the southern California coast, comes in at $61,273. Democrat Henry Waxman is in his 20th term representing the Los Angeles-area district.
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco district comes in at No. 8.
Across the country, Democratic House districts have an average per capita income of $27,893. That's about $1,000 higher than the average income in Republican districts. The difference is relatively small because Democrats also represent a lot of poor districts, putting the average in the middle.
Democrats say the "party of the rich" label is more about policies than constituents.
During the 2012 presidential election, Republican nominee Mitt Romney declared, "We're not the party of the rich. We're the party of the people who want to get rich."
The famously wealthy Romney also uttered a more famous quote about the 47 percent of Americans who pay no federal income tax.
"My job is not to worry about those people," Romney said in a secretly taped speech at a private fundraiser. "I'll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
In the election, Romney carried only one income group: people making $100,000 or more, according to exit polls. But when it comes to Congress, the rich districts like their Democrats.

Don't forget, party of the Liars, Scumbags and Gimmedats. What Repubs can compare to SJL, Pelosi, Waxman, Reid, Waters and Obama. Just typing those names makes me almost throw up.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Ha Ha Bruce. Uh, only one problem there-Christie is Governor, not in Congress (although I didn't specifically say "in Congress", I figured that was a "given" based on the fine-azz names I listed). Also, how come you Democrats scream "Bloody Murder" when lanes on a bridge are shut down, but no one asks or complains about Benghazi, Fast & Furious, Constitutional Rights violations, Solyndra, Soros, and all the other BS CAUSED under OBama's hand/rule and go apesheeet over a few hours of inconvenience? Seems like priorities are rather uckfayed IMO as to the Dems-"OMG, how dare he close a lane on a busy bridge-call the FBI, special prosecutors and rip his eyes out and skullfarge him." but it's Okey Dokey to pull all the sheet Obama has pulled. Kinda buttfarged ya think.

Regardless, I'd rather have a bridge shut down for a few hours than an entire Healthcare System-"You'll make new friends while waiting at your doctor's office." (Pelosi) and "We'll know what's in it after we pass it." (Pelosi) - that one sounds like a turd or a kidney stone, and Comrade's gaff: "You can keep your current doctor and insurance." - and let's not forget Maxine Waters-the Biggert Waters Act-a 'new law' in 2012 that screws anyone with a home in a flood plain. SJL thinks the Mars Rover will see the Flag planted by the astronauts on MARS. Obama thinks there are 57 States in the USA. Dey bees sum smart mofos.

Really now! Ya dint answer as to why a lane closure on a bridge is a huge scandal when compared to Obama's BS. I'd rather sit in traffic for 5 hours than be assaulted Constitutionally and Medically-but that's me. I know that some Dems would find 5 hours or less waiting in traffic a HUGE PROBLEM when compared to loss of rights, recordings of every phone call since 2009 (Can't blame GW for that one), being killed due to inaction even after asking for more security and on 9/11 of all days-who'd see that coming!!! (i.e. Benghazi), US citizens murdered by drones before tried and convicted, $530 Million to his Campaign Buddy, George Kaiser, of Solyndra right before filing Ch. 7 (of Kaiser Francis Oil Company-net worth around $1B), a farged up Healthcare law that isn't a Tax but is and ya cancel 6 million covered folks and then claim ya signed up 6 million folks-huh? Just a whole sheeetload of REAL bullchip but a bridge closure- OMG, farging hang em high and kill the bastage!! Just sad really.

Ok, answer this one. Do you think that the president and Susan Rice lied to the American people about the Benghazi attack starting as a protest over an anti-Islam video,

Lol. The point I get from the article is that if you are fortunate enough to be represented by a congressional Democrat, you have a better shot at living somewhat comfortable if you consider 50 grand a year as being rich. Of course, if you like Louis gohmert, a job at the Tyler, Texas wal-mart with no health care and food stamps may be you're cup of tea.

Walmart provides Healthcare to their employees. those that believe the Dems are better off having those reps are welcome to move to those States-I'll even bring a 12 pack and help ya pack to leave Texas. AMF

I'm not going anywhere, Jerry. I was born in Texas and I plan to die in Texas. In the mean time I'll do everything I can to get Democrats elected.

Ya, you could be fortunate enough to live in chicago or detroit. I would think that you two would have headed to one of those democrat utopias long ago. The problem is the other people's money has run out there.

Dude, you'd sell your soul to have the lifestyle and standard of living they have in Tyler vs Galveston, surf side, Freeport, etc..

Very few cities for its size, if any, have more $$$$ in it than Tyler

The only problem Tyler has is the invasion of people from the South of the border, like every other city.
