Bowing to pressure from MoveOn.Org, the President has dropped chained CPI from his upcoming budget. Chained CPI would slightly slow the growth of Social Security, a step both parties said they support. We're talking less than 1%, but the president dropped, what before he had called a "common sense measure". The neocrats won't raise the retirement age for future retirees or even move to chained CPI to slow the growth of a soon to be bankrupt social program.
