I'm plenty self-reliant, and working my union book always payed way better than unemployment comp. But having said that I would have drawn it before not eating. As I think Hogie mentioned, I paid in.

So that would be a yes, making unemployment compensation more difficult to obtain than a job led you to more work. Interesting.

This quote is a good example of the kind of erroneous thinking, which has permeated the human psychic, in the last
hundred years. In the first place, there is a lesson in the fact that fish couldn’t care less what people think. Secondly, everyone is not a genius at something and it doesn't matter. Believe me, I am not a genius at anything. I am certainly not a genius at fishing, but I intend to climb that tree as long as I can. Why? Because I like to fish. Give me a person who likes what he is doing everytime over the genius in the room who thinks he knows it all.
