Do you think outlawing "semi-automatic" rifles and pistols is a good idea and if so, why? If outlawed, will it bring a decrease in the number of sickos that blast away at innocent folks?

Do you think we should just outlaw what some folks call "assault rifles"?

Should the Government be able to come take away your "assault rifle"?

I doubt it would make any difference.
Things like this horrible killing make people want to look for answers. I know I'd like to stop them the same as the rest of you. There are already so many guns out there already, I think it would be impossible to get them all back and I don't think folks would cooperate anyway! LOL!
I do think there are a lot of people out there that are mentally ill that need attention and that may solve these issues better than gun control.

Let me start with an apology.....when I wrote about people loving their guns more than their children I was referring ONLY to the lady in Connecticut with the mentally unstable son....I never meant to assume ANY responsible gun owner loves their gun more than their child...it was poorly stated and I an truely sorry for even implying that. Again, what I MEANT TO say was that people who have problem children (anger issues, mental illnesses, etc, etc) should take more responsibility and precautions with their firearms than ones who do not, even if it means ridding their house of potential danger to others. Again, please forgive me for this insensitive comment.

That lady in Conn. was not very bright as we can see where she ended up. I only hope we don't have any school teachers like her in our districts.

I may be mistaken, but I believe even owning an "assault rifle" is illegal in Calinutsoland. Meaning they actually take it away from you without compensation. Does anyone know if the Fruit and Nut state really has a total ban on say Colt AR-15, Bushmasters, AK's, SKS, etc. in SEMI-Automatic? (we all know a Federal License is needed for a full auto).


We all agree that Lanza was nuts and his family was blind to the problem or not and just didn't know WTH to do and this whole incident was extremely tragic and likely preventable by a family member-I AGREE 100% WITH TERMO!
