WRONG there Bruce!!! Bad info there. First was the Telecummications Act of 1934, unchanged until 1984 (Reagan), but no one had CELL PHONES then!! Did you? If so, it barely fit in the trunk of your car.

The Act of 1984 DEREGULATED phone service and caused the split up of AT&T (you know-business competition-free market-something the GD Dummycrats no nothing about). The Act of 1934 favored a monopoly and did so in an effort to allow it to provide basic phone services to rural areas. The 1984 Act deregulated and broke up the monopoly.

IT WAS THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACT OF 1996 UNDER THAT OTHER LIAR, BILL "WHERE'S MY CIGAR?" CLINTON, THAT STARTED THE "Universal Service Fund"-which YOU pay for and the USF is where the scumbag crackhoes and welfare scumbags (i.e.-Typical Obama Voters) get there phone from.

Nope, am correct on the USF-see the actual Telecommunications Act of 1996. The USF is the mechanism that provided welfare folks with SUBSIDIZED phones-the previous acts (1934 and 1984) wanted AT&T and their split entities (1984 Act) to CONTINUE providing cheap service to ensure that folks had telephone access-that's why Long Distance always cost so much. It was CLINTON THE WHORE MONGER/DIRTY SCUM that pushed and signed the Act of 1996 whereby it set up the USF to have YOU pay for deadbeats. Read the 1996 Act. Step one towards Socialism.
