  • The $8 Billion Coincidence

I hope those that voted for Obama in 2008 watch this video.

If basically explains that you are farged starting 10/15/12 if on Medicare and that it may be pushed back 6 months to "hide" the issue from the voters.

harvey and Tidalguide and Termo-please check this out. I hit Medicare in a few years and sure would like to have it actually cover me and not cost what my insurance costs today, but it sounds like (as well as everything I have read on ObamaCare or as you may refer to it as the "ACA") we are all farged like a tied up sheep in a nice pasture in College Station-bahhhhhhhdd neeEwes
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Look, we all want changes to healthcare, we just want to know what they are, how they affect us and likely need to do a few things:

    1. Eliminate Pre-existing conditions
    2. All folks pay the same premium so the cost is spread out and a 20 y.o. pays the same as a 60 y.o.-if that were done, then rates would be affordable for everyone.

I think it is fairly easy to fix the system, but for Pelousy and Obama to force legislation that not one single SOB knows what's in it is not just absurd, it is farging beyond nuts and that's what the dummycrats did.

Robalo, I'm kind of torn on this one. I realize that health care is emotionally different than other services, but I'm not sure if a big central government should be meddling in my insurance or my health care decisions. I'm leaning towards the following:

Insurance is a free market service. Health care is also a free market service. They are both businesses. Insurance and health care are not "rights" and are not "entitlements". The consumer and the provider should be left alone to determine the costs. The government needs to stay out of insurance and health care.

Insurance is a private contract between a consumer and a provider. It is immoral for the government to deprive the provider of his right to determine what he wants to offer. It is immoral for the government to deprive the consumer of his right to accept or decline the service.

Here's a concrete example, using Evan's Marine as a provider, just because we all know what business Bryan is in. Would it be fair to Bryan or his customers for the government to tell Bryan that from now on, he must charge exactly $200 to every customer, no matter what service they needed? Lower unit oil change is $200. Complete rebuild of a Yam200 2-stroke that was run without oil is $200.

Not really fair, is it? The cost of the services that Bryan provides is no one else's business except Bryan and his customer. And if the customer doesn't like Bryan's price, he has other places to go to get that service. And if Bryan doesn't want to do the work the customer wants, he shouldn't be forced to do it. Competition is a wonderful thing. Government meddling sucks.

Robalo, the thing that makes me nervous is that if we think government meddling in health care is okay, then we create the opportunity for the government to meddle in everything. Essentially we are opening the doors for a powerful central government to socialize our entire economy.

I am a huge believer in the consumer and in economic competition. Let the consumer determine what services he wants and what he is willing to pay for it in the free market.
