The only thing the coyotes around here at SLP won't mess with is all these wild hogs down here.

Unless it's the coyotes that walk around on their back feet.

This sucker stands about 3' the first time i seen it I thought it was a small deer. I'll eventually get him I'm gona set a cable thruough the woods and drop some big treble hooks of it, If its hungry it will go after an easy meal and I'll snag his butt.

If you set a trap with a cable and hooks you will probably catch someones dog, cat. Coyotes are smart, when you do set some type of trap you really need to use rubber gloves when handling the trap and the bait. If coyotes catch your scent they will avoid the trap. I have been trapping varmits since I was a kid, I have learned that scent control is very important to be a sucessful trapper.

Not trying to be smart azz but I'd bet on the coyote on that set up. He's not going to get caught like that anymore than a neighborhood dog would. Bait it and trap it or shoot it.

Heard it get a cat last night at the house behind me, 10 minutes later herd a bunch of pups start howlin in the woods, guess they were getting fed. They run the woods between Briar Glenn addt. and Green Kay

Last Friday about 2am, was out on the bayou fishing, the coyotes was howlin' all up in the marsh and over to the west of Chocolate Bay. Don't know about y'all, but it is quite a beautiful thing to hear. And it thrills me to know that there is still something wild and primitive in this world, a self-sufficient predator who thrives in the midst of adversity. I hope there never comes a night when the coyote no longer howls his mournful call.

I hear ya on that they are good for wild and cool to listen to but in a residential area between two neighborhoods and two schools it's gona be tough for them to survive, the limited area they are in will not continue to feed them with wild stuff so they are making there way into the neighborhood for their meals I've lived there for 18 years and this is the first time that they have been preying so heavily on pets. I've always heard then out there. Now they or this one is comming into the area for a free for all not afraid of humans. I guess when the easy meals run out they may move on or start on the trash cans.
