Season in Review

Another one has come and gone. Great times alone and with friends, and got a few firsts. How was yours? The memories are in my head and that duck meat is in the freezer. Time to detail the gun, put away the dekes, and *sigh*, start fishing again.

No kayak private goose hunt. Pintails love geese spreads apparently. Lucky birds since it was during the split.

Got my first late season BWT. Gorgeous bird.


Got to hunt some freshwater in Centex. So much natural cover and the gun thanked me for the lack of corrosion. I'll still take the coast though

season for sandhill's was over yesterday in this area. Its still going in some parts of the state but you only have till this weekend and yes, they are great eatin.

Thanks guys! The hog worked the spread, and I squealed a few times and he cupped and committed right in . Kidding, he was walking the shore and I had the wind right. Just set up to intercept and fed him that hot steel when he came close enough. My only problem was that the front quarters have too much shot in them. I will figure something out, but I am about done shooting large animals with small shot.

Thanks James, I figured that one out. For some reason, I thought widgeon had white speculums too, and I had the foot color switched. Oh well, I will fill a limit with either species if given a chance
