  • Back from 9 days in South Texas...

Had a great trip the last weekend of the season. My son got him a real nice "Muy Grande" one and I whacked a couple of nice ones, but no Muy Grande this trip for me. Wife shot a few to boot. Came home with a trailer load of meat, mesquite, and memories....Here's a few pics from the weekend...

Wow that is very nice. I would be happy with just one of those as a lifetime deer.

At the ripe age of 12 he has knocked down 7 bucks with his little .223...He is up to a B&C score of 173...not bad for a poor redneck kid....Take a gander..

These are certainly beautiful deer. I have hunted on South Texas before and I know that alot of hunting takes place from topdrive rigs. But what ever happened to teaching young hunters the skills of hunting from a tree stand or a blind? How to be quiet and wait for the best shot. But shooting from the truck window? Just not my way of teaching young hunters to be good sportsman. But it is a good thing to take the youngsters hunting and to develop the interest in the outdoors even if your method is different from mine.

Good thing he didn't accidently hit the window button .I guess these kills where on the last day so the Muy Grande could get used to ya'll and the noise of the truck and realize the noise coming from the back bumper meant feeding time . You have apparently been on many safaris in the jungles of high fence operations. I'm no PITA member but dang .
That is a low fence ranch he has hunted his whole life... No high fence at all...

What are you talking about? What freezing cold, this is still fall conditions... It is a low fence ranch with lots of culls, all they kill is cull bucks... I think if I had the choise of hunting out of a truck....... It would be a no brainer... Two thumbs up Sid & Cade...

Weather was no factor in those shots thats for sure,I stand by what I said even though it will offend others,I feel sorry for the sport,or lack of it, each individual will have to look inside and make his or her choice's Good Luck !
