The week before Christmas I saw a couple of herds of does but no bucks, the deer all looked to be in good shape and were feeding mostly in the evening, this was around Livingston.

The moon is in your favor right now, get to the stand early and stay till dark, the only bad deal is it is gonna warm up fast this weekend. With the new rain, the morning could catch some overnight rooters that are a bit to greedy, other than that I would sleep in and go to the stand after lunch---good luck Reef. rs

I hunt in Shelby County, around Timpson. Didn't see one buck all season. Probably saw 25 does in half a dozen hunts. Popped a 3.5 year old doe that was in good shape for the freezer. The TPW biologist at the processor said the rut was sporadic this year and he had reports of bucks chasing does at various locations from the first week of the season through mid December which is way late for the area I'm in.

I don't know if we have a muzzle loader season, but I'm going to find out and if we do I guess I'm buying a muzzle loader for next year.

It will be under the county listing in the hunt. Regulation book , we typically get an extra two to three Weeks of season with it

Tyler county, made about 15 hunts and saw just a few deer. The drought and enormous acorn crop got me, but looking for oak trees to hunt next season. I had pictures of a few nice deer but billions of hog pictures, I fenced my feeder last weekend and betting the corn will just pile up. We will see. We are also looking for a few hunters on a MDL no guest non family lease just north/East of Woodville on hwy 69. $800 a gun
