Saw some birds, came home with none.
One of the best hunts I have had though. I had my 3 boys with me. This was there frst time going duck hunting.
The 5 year old thought everything that was flying was a duck. He was shakin he was so excited. He really freaked out when a group of pelicans checked us out.
We had 2 groups of divers in the spread about 10 mins before shooting time.
Then nothing.
2 beautifully huge mottled ducks swept past us and squatted in the decoys . They hung out and whistled back at us for a few mins.
A group of ringnecks came by I dropped one, knicked the second one but missed it on the next shot. Second bird kept moving and when I went to get the first one I shot ( gun is now empty ) it flew off.
Decided it was time to go a few mins later and got buzzed by a spoonie on my way to get the boat.
While picking up decoys those D()mb ***** ringnecks came and sat down . No birds but had a blast.
Saw lotsa Mottled ducks, lotsa pintails and lotsa spoonies.
