  • Morning Trout Bite On

I haven't been able to fish for a few days, so this morning was my chance. Left out at dawn, Temps in the 40's, wind 10 mph NE turning to ENE, bay slightly choppy, water temp 48, and a good outgoing tide. I parked on a shoreline and hopped out throwing a Fatboy. Second cast I hook up with a 5+# fish, released. I actually released two over 5#. I lost four that came off before I could grab 'em, and missed some good fish. Then it was pretty steady with the last fish strung about 10:00. Fished another hour and caught a few Redfish, released.

I wish I'd been there, Kenny. All I managed was a 141/2" trout, 19" red and 12" flounder. Of course all released. Got out to late I guess and missed the bite. Good catch!

I haven't talked to a soul that caught anything today. Way to get 'em! I quit after 30 minutes this afternoon.

It was fun, that's for sure. The sad part was when I threw off my heirloom blk/prl/chrt Fatboy! I had just glued it all back together!
