    Re: Need some tips

I heard sportsman road is no more.. the homeowners and the garbage man complaones too much about not being able to get home or to get the garbage out of there.

sent from my taxpayer-funded sail phone and yes the government is tapped into my talk

Sportsman road is a miss or hit spot for waders new to angling. Good bottom, work the toe heads off to the right as you enter the water and the gut feeding the back water out about fifty yards. Slide you feet and watch out for rays. Be careful where you park and respect the homeowners ability to access their driveways and have their trash picked up.

instead of turning on sportmans rd, keep going straight to the end of 8 mile rd. i heard there's no more parking there, but you might want to inquire on it. wade to the right side and fish to the right side till you get to the opening on the right. just before the opening, there is some shell. good fishing there. you can also try skyline by texas city about 300yds before getting to moses lake. Lord Bless.

You might try Dana cove at galveston island state park . You pay for your parking pass at the building towards the beach opposite the entrance to the bay park . Buy a hook n line wade fishing map , and the book NO NONSENSE GUIDE TO COASTAL FISHING by Pat Murray . Both at academy if in stock . Good luck !

After entering the park drive , it takes several winding curves and ends at the cove with parking area and fish cleaning station . You can walk to the right and hugging the shore fish the gut as you work to the left towards the cove . Or you can head straight to the through the marsh grass at the end of the turn around . There is a particularly deeper area of the cove roughly in the center of the cove . There's a PVC pipe on the near and far side of this deep area . Good luck !

I fish the area with a kayak . The gut from lake como heading out to the bay can be productive . Reds and flounder can be around the marsh islands along the cove's edge . Trout in the cove itself . These are generalizations as those fish can be in all these areas . Post a report !

the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.
