Stayed at the house down in Galveston last night. Woke up this morning to low winds and nice green water. Went around the corner of the house with a buddy. He was using croaker and while I used topwaters and plastics. Worked our way towards a gut that was almost a 2 Ft drop. On the way, I picked off a 23 inch trout on a black spook. With that I got pretty excited and thought it was going to be an awesome day. Once we got there, my buddy started picking off trout like no other. By 8 he had 9 trout, smallest at 18 inches, while I caught dinks with an avocado trout killer. Eventually I caught a few flounder to quell the dry spell of keeper fish. Action shut off at around 930 and we called it a day. On he way back I hooked a 7 lb slot red near the grass and another trout. All and all, a good day!
