  • Thursday wade

Planning on taking a late morning trip out to galveston tomorrow. Its been a LONG time since I have taken a trip. One of those days where I dont really care what I catch, as long as Im catching. I actually might even try to practice my flounder techniques....which I generally do not enjoy fishing for.

Has anyone ever really noticed a difference when using fresh dead shrimp vs. already dead shrimp? Fresh as in buying live shrimp and tossing them on ice.

Why buy live shrimp being expensive as it is then throwing it on ice killing it?? Dnt make much sense man. The fish you will catch with dead shrimp dont care how long its been dead, they will eat it. If its real old peel it before you put it on da hook.

Let me ask you this: now Im no wind and tide guru but I know tomorrow the wind should be about 11mph and NW...Im planning of having a big fish fry for the games this weekend and want to catch a bunch of fish. Not specifically targeting specks or reds, more so sheepies, drum, whiting etc. Do you guys think the beachfront would be more productive than say 8 mile. Also has anyone ever fished the west side of the beachfront where the seawall drops off to those large flat boulders below?

Not sure of the depth. Dont wade it thats for sure! Get you a pint of live shrimp and wade the south shoreline and you should pick up something to fry.

With the north winds the last few days, the surf usally lays down a bit. Have some friends that have been catching sand trout off the groins lately. can't find a better fish for a fish fry if you cook them soon. Dead shrimp works well.

Can't miss with HEB.... FYI, leave the boat and waders at the house.
