I walked in solo this morning at 7 and walked out about 10:45 or so.The topwater bite was on.The tide was still up when I hit the shoreline and started cranking out soon after that.I let 'em have the black spook and that's all I needed to have with me.....never took it off. They were busting the crap out of it;had a few good ones pull off also.Busted a nice tournament red that I thought was a big trout. It went 27 1/2" and 8 and a quarter on the boga.Light SE,dark overcast skies and flipping bait made for a good morning. The tide moved out at least a foot, the wind picked up to around 15 and they shut down about 10-10:30.The fish were in thigh to waist deep.As a result of all the rain this spring and summer, the bays have been full of bait and it has definatley shown in the trout this fall. They were all healthy and fat with thick shoulders and tails.Someone is going to bust a big one before Christmas.A 30-31" trout right now is going to be pushing double digits.
