I saw your post and want to go check out the surf tomorrow. I'm new to wading and fishing, what do you recommend me bringing? I only have a medium-size pole and what type of bait or lures do would you recommend? Would it be cool if I met you guys out there and got some tips?

I'm going to wade the bay side by the pass. If you are going to fish the surf I would throw some 1/2 oz silver spoons and a variety of soft plastics (red/white tail or Texas Roach/Chartreuse tail) paddles tails and touts.

I mean im down for whatever I just want to start catching fish. How far on the backside do you usually go?

Basically you just wade out and fish the several guts that are back there. It will be really shallow and then drop off, when it drops off back up a little bit and fish the deeper water. Be careful because there are some strong currents in some spots. If your throwing live bait, use a shrimp under a popping cork or free swim a croaker with a split shot or Carolina rig. As for arties throw soft plastics, spoons, twitch baits, and top waters. MAKE SURE TO SHUFFLE YOUR FEET, there are sting rays out there. Good Luck!
