Cameron and I have been trying to get out there all week. With all this rain and lightning, it was difficult to do so. Today, we decided to wade one of our favorite drains/ culverts at Seabrook. These past few weeks we've keyed in on shad to find fish and today was no exception. Once we hopped in we could see the shad being blown up on the shoreline. Cameron immediately hooked up with a nice slot red and CPR'ed him. A few casts later, he had himself one of his 11 flounder. The action never died until dark (and even then, the shad were still going berserk) and we had plenty of missed opportunities. I had myself a few flounder and caught three trout with one being on top. The trout came up and popped some shad and I luckily had a chrome/ black topwater on and casted over in that area. Two twitches later, I had a trout peeling drag that turned into a fat 18+ incher. The missed opportunities were mainly on Cameron's side as he targeted mainly flounder. The area consisted of mud and shell but Cameron knew of a small sand gut in the vicinity. His casts went to that gut every time and while he landed 11 flounder, he lost probably 14 more. One of which was a definite pig. I was extremely suprised that the action was as good as it was. Cameron, post up them pics!
