I have been wade fishing about 5 times both at SLP and now in Christmas Bay near the entrance to Drum Bay. Ive always used shrimp under popping cork or a 'redfish rig'. I have thrown a few topwaters and plastics. For all of these trips, I have 2 sheepshead, 3 stingrays, 1 flounder, and one trout under my belt. My buddy caught the flounder, which got off. So, the only thing I have ever brought home is the trout.
Now, I know there is plenty to catch here, but I sure can't figure out how. Anyone have any tips? I love fishing, catching or not...but its a long way down and a ton of work to have nothing to show for it. I try to wade out until I can get my bait into a channel or what I think is a channel, but just haven't had much luck.
Im asking because I want to take a buddy out to this spot this weekend and see if we can catch something.
