Hey Trout Killer, I'm new to this area also, wish I could help ya out. You can wade just about anywhere you can get to, this
depends on who owns the property. Myself, I would scout with that 22ftr you have. This also depends on your location as well.
Hey, can someone help this guy out please?? Sorry mate, wish I could help ya more.

Try the surf, its really kicken into gear about now also SLP ,Boliver And the spoils next to the ICW in west bay,The state park has good wadin and you could do Sportsmans Road and 99th st behind the golf ourse. Ther are many places to go you can access all of these spots w/ your boat, take your time shuffle your feet and dont be steppin to high cause theres a whole bunch of Rays on them bottoms. You might invest in Ray guards to go with your new wades.

Buy a hotspot map and study it along with google earth and you will find more than enough areas to keep you busy for the spring & summer.

You mentioned that you are using a 22ft boat to move around in. What type of hull is she and how much does she draw?
As "Ghost Marine" replied, if you are going to be doing any wading make SURE that you shuffle your feet along the bottom here in the Bay. There is no better way to ruin a nice day on the water than having one of those nasties tag your lower leg with a barb when you accidently step on one. Just in case you do get tagged I have to suggest that if you have a buddy fishing with you, let them drive the boat back to wherever you launched from. Get the wound under the piss stream of your engine once it's warmed up.
The warmed/hot water from the pizz stream will make the pain a lot less worse than if you just leave it alone.

Here is a book that I found that might help. I found my copy at 1/2 Price Books for six bucks.
