Friday , i fished an area for the first time arriving before daylight . I threw a super spook in the dark and for a while after sunrise without results . Rolling swells greeted me and when it got light enough , i could tell there was 3-4 foot water clarity . A slow falling tide was on the agenda . Rafts of mullet and other bait were present with occational violent surface assaults on them . Two waders were in proximity using live croaker as as the morning wore on i stuck up a conversation with them . The younger man is mike and the older man is captain joel of sharkfishing texas .com . catching was slow for the 3 of us and after 6 hours mike had 3-4 trout , joel had 3 , and i had 3 . I held my own with plug chunking which i felt good about .
a 20 , 17 , and 15 inch trout .
An offshore thunder cloud rendered a waterspout which can be seen to the right of the boat if you squint your eyes and cock your head to the side .

END

saturday , i returned and about 8 fellows showed up with about half throwing croaker . The waves were sporty early but settled down to manageable 2-3 foot waves .

one fellow throwing croaker looked familiar from some wea posts and it ended up being team reel pimp . Hi , garrett ! I had him hold my stringer so i could have a picture . Ok , that was a lie as i got skunked . Those are his fish , although i can lay claim to the most ladyfish caught . He also landed and released a 30 inch plus red . after 3 hours i was pooped and packed it in .

Nice report and much better than I did this weekend. I met up with Harvey for a wade Saturday morning for an almost skunk. There was tons of bait but not many predators. I got a couple sandies and an eel and Harvey fared about the same. We called it quits after 3 hours.

Funny aside

ON A HUMEROUS NOTE , WHEN PACKING UP MY GEAR AT THE TRUCK , I USUALLY OPEN THE TRUCK'S TWO DOORS , GET BETWEEN THEM , STRIP DOWN AND POUR FRESH WATER ON ME , TOWEL OFF AND GET ON DRY CLOTHES . BUT THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE AROUND I COULDN'T DO THAT WITHOUT BEING SEEN . SO , I TOOK OFF EVERYTHING BUT MY SHORTS AND GOT INTO THE BACK OF THE CAB WITH THE BENCH SEAT FOLDED UP AND CLOSED THE DOOR. I HAVE DARK TINTED WINDOWS AND HOPED A QUICK SHORTS CHANGE WOULD DO THE TRICK . NOW , ON THE 26 TH I'LL BE 64 YEARS OLD . I'M OUT OF SHAPE , HAVE AN IFFY BACK , ARTHRITIS , AND A GUT . IN THE CONFINED AREA OF THE BACK SEAT I MADE BODY CONTORTIONS GETTING THOSE SHORTS OFF AND DRY ONES ON THAT I HAVEN'T MADE SINCE THE 1980'S . I WAS LIKE A FAT LADY TRYING TO PUT ON A GIRDLE IN A STEAMER TRUNK . WITH A LOT OF MUMBLING AND GASPING I FINALLY GOT IT DONE AND EXITED THE CAB OF MY JACKED UP TRUCK IN A SEMI FALL . STANDING BREATHLESS OUTSIDE THE TRUCK , I REALIZED I HAD PUT THE SHORTS ON BACKWARDS . WELL , THAT WOULD HAVE TO DO AS I WASN'T ABOUT TO DO THAT AGAIN . LATER I NOTICED I HAD PULLED AN INTERCOSTAL MUSCLE BETWEEN MY RIBS THAT BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES WHENEVER I COUGHED OR SNEEZED . CRIMINY !

The highlight of the morning was getting run out of the water by the park board worried about us getting sucked out through the pipe. Lol.

Nice report and pics as always Henry. Perhaps the water was TOO clear instead of being trout green.

Hope your OK.
