Walk out to the end of the jetties and cast as far as you can with a 1/2 oz. johnson sprite. Count it down to three and twitch it twice and slow roll it back. Remember to have a good grip on the rod handle.

pompano typical run in school's and typical i've caught way more down south then the upper coast but a few fishing reports back i snagged one in the surf.Like Harvey said silver or gold spoon.

I have only caught them on live and dead shrimp while targeting other species. Never caught them consistently.

Caught 3, 5 pounders a few years back in the surf piano wire leader and shrimp live under a cork,fought like hell and quite tasty!!!
