Experienced angler visiting Galveston next week - need surf fishing advice!

Hey everyone! I'll be renting a beach house next week right on Indian Beach (On De Vaca St) for about a week with some family and I was wondering if any of you experienced Galveston guys can give me any tips for fishing the surf. I grew up surf fishing on the Padre Island National Seashore (I'm originally from Corpus) but have never been anywhere close to Galveston for fishing. What's the Indian Beach fishing scene like? Waste of time? Anything I should do differently from what I do on PINS bait-wise, presentation-wise, etc? Since the house is on the beach I'm not really interested in going to any other locations so if it is a waste of time there I'll just concentrate on drinking. I know where I'm from there are some spots that just never seem to be prime because of sandbar/gut orientation, excessive crowds, etc. Any input is helpful.

I agree with G340. Just set it up like you do at PINS but don't expect it to look so pretty.

welcome!the surf has been good for a couple of weeks now, but the wind is forecast to blow through next week.good luck! dont let the dirty water fool you,if it calms down fish it.
