Can't catch fish in the living room...strong winds just mean I can cast alot further...I aint scared.

I agree but feeling like I got paddled by 4 big guys and smudged for days after is not my cup of tea

I agree too, just saying the surf might not be the best option!

I am sure my enthusiasm will diminish slightly once all the wind and waves hit me...you guys are definately right that it is going to be rough...I just have limited time that I can fish so I am hoping that sheer determination helps me to box some fish. I hope I didn't come across the wrong way, if so I apologize...no sarcasm meant.

Isn't this kind of weather what stirs up the big bull reds? I had heard stories about guys fishing from the shore in 40 mph winds catching bulls in the surf. The red in my avatar profile pic was caught on a day that noone was fishing the surf. It was me and one other guy. The surf was blown up...I could barely wade out to cast in water that was up to my waist. I didn't really get a big cast out but figured I had the blue crab so why not give it a try. Within the first hour I had 2 reds in the cooler..20" and 23" On two different occasions mini storms blew parallel along the beach...40 mph guts etc. After the last storm burst my line started screaming...I worked the drag and eventually tired that red out. My two biggest reds up to that point were caught on that day. Live blue crap cut into quarters. So I would say wading in the surf may be a lil hairy but chasing a bull red might be fun.
