My kayak partner and friend decided to go to the surf. The webcams convinced me as well. Met up with him and made a beeline for the seawall and walked in at 11ish. I have to get to an event at around 4 so we had to make this quick. He started (and stayed with) a plumtruese assassin the whole time. Every cast, he hooked up with sand trout after sand trout, some in which were 15 inches or so and fat. As for me, I started working the bone super spook jr. I had some interest, but I couldn't get them to take it so I switched to the white/ Chartreuse and a few casts in, hooked up with a nice 16 in trout. We had a good deal of sand trout (keeping the big ones) and one speck when the waves started becoming a bit bigger. The spook had a lot of interest still but no hook ups. I then switched to a corky and picked off a few sandies. Every other second you would hear my friend set the hook. I made a far cast and felt a trout hit it. That was a 20 incher. Afterwards I accidentally threw the corky off and there went my last one. Switched to a rattle trap and it was demolished by the sandies. The paint even started chipping off. Great day on the surf, out of the water by 1:40. Kinda wished we got there earlier.
