Water clarity?

How is the nearshore clarity? I'm thinking about some nearshore diving tomorrow and was wondering how it is in the Galveston and Surfside areas. Thanks.

The South wind has come up some, but the water is in fairly good shape. It should be beautiful at either jetties.

[PBD539 - Shoal Patrol]

Green water was about 100yard out when we left the Galveston yesterday afternoon. Whiting were plentiful in the first & second cut, mullet everywhere. We were after the grey suits & got blanked.

PS - My Dad's Pelican kayak is the equivalent to paddling a 10' log with a parachute dragging in the water!!! Just sayn'
