Stayed out of the marsh for about a week while I've been recovering from some foot surgery. Couldn't get the foot wet because of some nasty bacteria that I've been told lives back there. Stayed out as long as I could and got back in it today. Found one red cruising a grass line a little after daylight. It obviously was hungry for a morsel of food that only marginally looks like anything edible. Water was low tide and just starting to come in where i was at about 8:00. Found a few pods of 4 to 5 fish, but they were sneaking around the grass instead of crashing through it. They all spooked before I could even get a good fly presentation to them. As usual it was very pleasurable being in the marsh at daylight. Heck, at my age and condition it's actually pleasurable to be alive at daylight.
