they sell some at bass pro but you can go buy some pipe insulation and make your own. Just copy this design.

I don't use them anymore but I use to put one on my kids rod when we would go out wade fishing. They do work but they are kind of in the way. Throws off the balance of the rod working lures and such. I gave mine to a friend that has small kids for him to use but he's a cork and bait fisherman.

if you are kayak fishing, just get rod leashes and strap up while underway or not in use. I think that is better than putting that foam on the rod.

COOL, i was thinking it would be in the way & wasnt sure why people were telling me i needed them. leash seems the best route to take when on the go...

Where do you buy the leashes. Do they have plastic clips or do they have some metal ones that are saltwater proof. Lord Bless.

The leashes are made to work with the Scotty rod holders (and others) on your yak. You can get them at most kayak retailers.

I've never heard of someone loosing a rod from the rod holder but evidently it happens . Most of the time my rod is laying between my legs . As an aside , I placed a PVC type pipe in my rod holder hole which is behind and to the side of my seat . The pipe is about 1 1/2 foot long . Placing my rod in it elevates my reel protecting it from getting wet from splashes and waves . I've never had it come out of it .
