  • Kayaking sabine louisiana side

Anyone launch their kayak on the cajun side of sabine ? I see two places , the boat ramp at the south end and the junction of johnson / deep bayou . I want to yak that bayou for flounder and any trout or reds . Any success stories , pointers ?

I was all ready to go til I heard kayak. Let's get Termo to hire that guide on 610 fishing show and light out.

Forget the Kayak and take your boat. You will definitely catch Reds & Flounder... Plus you will be able to outrun the Big gators back there:-)!

Well Harvey , you and John are invited if you get a Cajun day license , fish a Friday , and plan on making a day of it . It's not for the faint hearted . Probably leave here around 4-4:30 am and leave no earlier than that . It's a 2 hour drive and I stop to top off and get ice . It's not for everyone . Last time if you remember my report , I went alone and waded in the morning then fished a bayou for flounder . Found only one set of working gulls in the afternoon . I want to go to the north end . Never been there . Walkinwader was game but is busy now . SISCO KID is game when off the tug . I really don't and shouldn't take the boat alone that far . I feel I can kayak alone though . Done it plenty of times , just not Sabine .

Thats possible . I go once a year with my crew of 7 guys in the spring . We would fish a Sunday , Monday and maybe Tuesday . I have to plan ahead and mark off time on my schedule . It's a crap shoot weather wise in the spring . The last 2 years the weather was so bad we canceled and I fished here as best I could . I'm off Fridays and can anytime plan on arriving a Thursday night , fish Friday and Saturday and return Sunday .

I'm game plugger. Termo made a lick on the outlet mall in LaMarque and was talking about Calcaseui. Let's chip in 150 a piece and you drive down to Texas City an we'll take my truck, I'll buy fuel and we can book a full day with the guide on Sabine. What say you, bro?

Guys wade Sabine but I have heard stories of sharks eating your stringer if fortunate to catch fish . Also of gators running you off . I just need to move faster than you or John .. HAR ! You know , like the story of the guy who survived a grizzly attack with a .22 pistol ...HAR ! But drifting and trolling bsyous is good .
