To each his own! This kayak isn't for everyone, thats for sure. I love my Revolution, which is alot more basic(and cheaper). I would still choose my Revolution over the PA any day of the week. But to the group of people this new yak appeals to... it's just what the doctor ordered!Team Rolling Thunder

You exactly right. No one product can universally be the best for every consumer. But i have been looking at kayaks for over 3 years after selling my pontoon boat and moving to Houston. This is just the ticket! I have been sitting on the money and saving up for a LONG time, but I have a feeling that after testing out a PA12 this summer, I am going to finally get me a yak (or boat, or battle ship, or whatever you want to classify it as). I have always liked the PA14, but had several issues. Almost every single one has been addressed with the PA12, and they come stock. I for one, am VERY excited to get out on one of these

You don't happen to drive a minivan....? Sorry I asked however, I live in LC on the west side of I45 and saw a maroon colored van with a PA on top....just curious how someone would hulk that thing on top?
I am torn between the 12 and 14 as i will be purchasing one in the next month or so.

I do not drive a minivan. I have a truck, so roofing it is not an issue for me. I have seen a video of someone putting a PA14 on top of their SUV though. Just pivoted it on the little skip plates on the back, set the front on a foam pad, lifted the back and pushed. It was not a 90 pound middle school girl doing this, as you can imagine... ha ha.
My truck has a 5.5' bed, so that is one of the reasons the 12 is appealing to me. I have a friend who can weld me up a hitch extension with a T-top to support the yak sticking out of the bed. But having 24" less is a big plus for transportation. Not sure how it will translate on the water.
