  • bay levels - Christmas or GISP

Thinking of heading out tomorrow to try Christmas Bay or put in West Bay at the State Park. Anyone been out lately? How's the water level. Last time I was out it was super low.

    thx

I'm sitting at GISP now. Water level is decent and good color in the protected coves. Out in open wate there is a stiff chop. Lots of waders on the east end of the park.

My experience is that days like this are tough in Christmas. Its so shallow, it gets blown out in a hurry or really churned up. More places to hide on the West End.

    Good luck. Go fishing.

water was crystal clear, launched at Dana cove and spent a coupla hours out there. Will try the west launch next time. Didn't find much water over about 2', and was more windy than predicted. Great area, looking forward to trying it again

$5 per car. If you go very often you can get an annual pass for $80.
                Good luck Sisco!

It costs $5 to enter the park. If you have a Texas Parks Pass, park entry is free.

You'll have better luck IMHO when the water is a bit dirty.
got no bites and didn't see anyone get bit either. Got a good look at the bottom though. Had never seen the water so clear in that area. Did slightly better at SLP where it was a bit dirty, but was also full of weed.
