I have fished almost exclusively out of my yak, but recently decided to use my boat. I haven't used my boat much since it is my first and have no boating or navigating experience. I have not had an experienced boater to go with me to help me out . I have been wary of going alone in areas of reefs and sand bars. That's why I got THE SHALLOWIST to navigate me around upper West Bay to see where I could run a boat safely. Same thing with my recent trip to East Matty with HOGIE 70. Where to launch, get into the bay, fish. I've had some kind offers to go with me to help me out that I will follow up. I don't mind fishing and exploring by myself. I just don't want to damage the boat- or myself.

You need to watch the movie "Captain Ron". Don't worry about navigation, reefs or any of that stuff, just get on the water. If something is going to happen, it will happen out there. If something happens, think of it as an adventure or a learning experience.

Let me know when you want to go out. I am not Steve, but have figured out a lot of West Bay last year, so I can help you out. You can even launch your boat at our place in Terramar.

This is what happens when you abandon a perfectly good boat and go wading around looking for sting rays.

Puts me at ease Monte..... Scarry how shallow that 18 Sprint will run before coming to a dead stop. I did that once years ago not far from where your boat was. never ran teh boat hard with customers, but me and DPop were messing around on a low tide and I wanted to see what the shallowsport would do on hard sand. I gave up and chopped the throttle before the boat stopped moving. When we got out, there wasn't enough water to cover my instep. Honestly less than 3 inches!!

I talked to LMC Marine yesterday and the boat should be ready next week in time for team TROUTSLAYER to win the tournament and side pot. HOP and RONE get the silver spark plug award for best mechanics and greenies for correct diagnosis of the problem-- hose attached to the PSI gauge broken and spraying water. Waiting for the hose to be delivered and Yamaha probably will pay for it. LMC replaced the PSI gauge several months ago and I think they may be at fault and they are trying to get some money out of it because that's an issue I brought up when they told me the cause of the problem. Thanks for everyone's help !!
