  • cheap and local stake out pole

Hello all. I finally got my boat on the water and tops among my growing list of things I want for my new favorite toy is a shallow water anchor. I found no shortage out there but shipping is a killer. I figure there's gotta be a place in houston that has an 8'ish pole with a t handle and spike for a reasonable price. Baring that if i try to save my limited budget for other things will I hate life if I make a pole out of some PVC?

I make 10' solid fiberglass with t handle, chisel point, this helps you set it in hard bottom.

How long do you need it to be? I have a 6 foot I will let go.

Sorry for neglecting this thread. I finally got a response from a guy in Katy that makes cheap. In the meantime I made an 8 footer from 1.25" PVC . it works OK but has some serious downsides. Namely dropping muddy turds in the boat. It holds the boat in plave and with limited boat budget it'll do for now.
