We are just lightly kicking around the idea of getting a boat that is a little bigger than our Whaler 13. Nothing serious, we are just talking about it. Anyways we would like to have something with a center console to maximize space. We mainly fish the flats, but also run across West Bay quite a bit. Do y'all think we should stay with a Whaler style hull giving up shallow ability? Or do you think we should go to a more shallow hull style sacrificing ride? Thanks!!

Keep your eyes open for a Dargel Fisherman in an 18.9 configuration Roomy, shallow running and smooth on the rough, they can be had pretty affordable in the older hulls and they hold up really well even with age! Dont buy another boat thats too small! or you will regret it when you realize you are crowded in! This is the smallest size I recomend for good all around use! The skout is also sweet! This is only one of many choices available.Just dont buy into the small boat B.S. larger prevents outgrowing too soon!West Bay Sensai...

LMAO either it will foam your beer or make your testicles feel like they have been threw a blenderOriginally posted by Gulfcoast13 View PostWhaler is nice but run in my Majek and you will want one if you like the shallows. Open bay with some good chop is good but that 6" chop will foam your beer.Karma's a beach.

Yep, Carolina Skiff . . . . or I might very sadly have a 16 foot Shoalwater up for sale soon. My buddy keeps his at my house and his wife just changed jobs, making a LOT less. So he may have to let it go.From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."
