As most of y'all know, I have a 1965 Evinrude 9.5 hp that I have been working on. It would run good for about 15 seconds, then it would shut off. I narrowed it down to the fuel pump. After some research, I discovered that the parts for the 1965 fuel pump were extremely rare. So it was either buy a $75 fuel pump... Or find a used updated version. I found a used fuel pump that was the updated version to allow for rebuilds if needed for $25. I took delivery of it on Friday. After a trip to Autozone yesterday for a longer fuel line, I put it all back together. A couple of pulls, and it was running like a sewing machine! I ran it for about an hour, then went back about 2 hours later and pulled it about 6 inches and it fired right up! It fires off with just 6 inches of a pull every time now!
P.S. My stand broke again...
. So, I think I am goin to make it out of 4x4 uprights now with some 1/4 inch bolts.
