  • Galvanized trailer modification/welding

A friend of mine had this done on his boat trailer so I know it can be done, I'm just trying to figure out where.

Due to HOA restrictions, my boat has to be "out of public view", and it just so happens that the entire boat motor and trailer is about 1.5 ft too long for my garage. My friend had a trailer place cut the square tubing going to the tounge of his trailer, then weld a smaller piece of tubing on the inside that extended past the cut, and then drilled to holes in the trailer tubing for pins to hold it in place when towing, essentially making his tounge removable. I need to get similar work done to my trailer so that I can make it fit in the garage, you guys have any ideas on where i could have this done at?

You could add a swing-away tongue, they are made to bolt on or weld on after cutting the trailer tongue.

Here is a link to one manufacture of swing-away tongue kits. I'm not associated with the company in any way.
