Garmin 546s

I have a Garmin 546s and it has a spot for a blue chart card,but the unit has all the maps in it already....? what does the card do? enhance it?

How much more detailed can it get? i mean with all the little colored markers and all i can barely see my way points..lol

I have the same unit and love it we aint missing nothing save your 200 dollars unless you want to look under boat docks for bass.

Anyone of you know if Garmin offers a power cord to use a 564s in the house? My old 178 had one and you could play with the gps in the house.

I meant 546s and i just called Garmin and im out of luck....wish i didn't have to sit in the boat to learn this thing.I still have my A/C cable from my 178c...wonder if i can make it work? may have to cut it and solder it.

You should be able to connect to your computer via a usb cable and garmin should have supplied that-if they dint, call them or check website and see if they sell one.

If ya wanna run the unit in your house (I guess ya fish in bathtub while using it since the toity fishin would result in catching an Obama floater), you can buy a 12 volt power converter from Radio Shack like I used to have to run my vhf at the house and just connect your leads from the Garmin Plug.
