Blockade Runners Beat Down

Took the wife and kids out to the camp yesterday and put the beat down on some fish! Kids caught quite a variety off the dock and we watched the sun go down, stayed up late, relaxed on the porch by an expertly tended fire and caught specks till our arms hurt up to 24". Caught 3 reds all about 25" as well. Awesome time and awesome company. Thanks Sandy!!

Put the HURT on 'em again tonight. I actually FISHED! Your colors/lure from last night wasn't happening Mike. Tom said he knew what we needed and went up to the camp and grabbed some H&H Cocohoe in white with chartreuse tail and WHAMMO! Strange how a one day difference can mean they want another color. I caught some nice trout up to 23 inches, but the real star was Tom. I spent more time netting his fish than I did catching my own. He caught 3 reds up to 25, well over half of our trout limit, and a doormat flounder that we'll measure for sure in the morning. It's easily 25 inches, so I think we have a new camp record. I was having trouble just catching trout. When I pulled in the last trout, we had been fishing for just under 2 hours. Started at 10:30, finished at 12:25. It was only then I noticed he was using a heavier jig head. DOH!

We ran over to Allan's camp and ate some fresh from the bayou ceviche and passed a good time. Such a good time I don't want to go home.
