  • How fresh is the bayou

Seems we cant get Mother Nature to cooperate the weather has been cold for the trout to be in there but has the rain freshed the bayou out?

The fish are there , the fresh water stacks on top , the salinity is on the bottom !

Another good post! That place and the diversion canal are prime spots in the cold months with a little patience and confidence.

i'm going to try chocolate bayou tomorrow i think mid-day. the water is still so cold I think the fish gotta be in there but last time i called over to Lutes (last week) she told me that the bayou was fresh on top, however i'm not sure if that's going to impact the fish at all since they'll be deep...i think it might impact the water clarity the most. i was going to call and see what the clarity is like tomorrow, if it's chocolate milk i'm not going to bother (although I know you can still catch them, but it's harder).

Right now it looks like the chocolate river in the Willy Wonka movie. But I'm up the bayou about 30 minutes from Lutes. It's been like this for a few days now so it's gotta be muddy farther down by now. We could really use a week or two with no rain.

We got a few keepers in the diversionary canal yesterday despite the weather. Im sure it will pick up soon. Chocolate Bayou is currently blown out and full of run off and debris. it will be a week or two till it gets better. IF we don't get anymore rain.

The diversion canal is always good for a decent mess of trout and flounder. Huh, Ibtsoom!
