  • Fishing in the bayou this Sunday?

I thinking of hitting the bayou out of my yak this Sunday. Any reports of how salty the bayou is? Think the bay might have birds working if the North wind lowers these tides. Any thoughts?

You can call Cody at Lutes, he takes water samples from the bayou for his shrimp. 2eight1-393-1021

Fished last Saturday 9/27 caught a lot of small trout. Water was pretty fresh. Water should be better this weekend, but going to be windy 13+ Winds.

With the wind pumping a bayou would be the best bet for getting out of the gale . I didn't check Sunday but the wind was to lay down Saturday afternoon . Best tide movement is in the afternoon .

Ok the front has passed and I dont think the bayou got too much rain. Now if I can get the kitchen pass from the wife I will be there Sunday.

With the 1 swinging tide movement, later Sunday evening may be best bite. Right at dark or just after.
Hit the drains and bends above the bridge.

Went Sundat afternoon for a few hours and not much luck. One little trout on a finger mullet. Caught that around the bubble barrier. Tried tops and plastics but not many hits and nothing on top. Anyone ever kayak Halls Bayou?

Just got in this am and the wife went. We caught a bushel basket of dinks, whiting, croaker, rats.Went through a qt of shrimps in less than 2 hours. No flounder or slot reds. Out of the bushel a couple of specs slotted but tossed over as were the rest. Caught peak of high tide. Water tea colored and the blow picked up about 0815hrs. Small rain shower. Lots of boats and 1 yak sweating and hurtin to get to bridge.
If the granbabies had been with us I would have requarted and headed back out. Never went below the bridge.
