Tides were very low yesterday and I was making my way to new bayou when I noticed a pontoon boat sitting in the middle of the mouth. I came off plane early and nearly stuck my boat in the mud had to idle in. What's the proper thing to do? I think next time I would stay in plane and just blast by him as he was anchored in the middle of the mouth as opposed to the side. thoughts?

Dont get your boat stuck! Politely tell him he is making it difficult for other boaters being anchored there and for his own safety might want to relocate.

Stay on plane until you enter. Most people who fish there know if they are going to fish the mouth, then they will have to deal with it. I fish there and understand.

Stay on plane and shrug your shoulders at them as you pass by.

I always believe 1st show 1st fish! There are way way too many more better places to fish Chocolate than the mouth of New Bayou. Why ruin someone's hope and day by upsetting the water. Have fun and don't take it all so seriously.

I fish it off to the side. I prefer you to stay on plane if you're coming in. But don't come in if the birds are working and I'm catching fish. That guy ruined my day. Flew right threw the birds and busting bait in a bass boat.

If you fish the mouths this is what you have to deal with. If I can I will slow down and idle in but if it is extremely low then I am blowing in and sorry about your luck. If you are hooking up on fish I will kindly drift into your position and powerpole down next to you and thank you for finding em, and of course fill my ice chest. NFIC - MOFO'S---HAHAHAHAHAHHA

Same thing with the people who fish in the channel on the way in to churancah or however the hell you spell it. Such a pain in the *** to slow down every 30 feet. I slow down for people at the openings because it is deeper, but people in the middle get me going by on plane.

Stay on plane and blast by them, but be polite and wave to them as you go by. Sorry, but if you are in the middle of the cnannel of ANY bayou or drain that is pretty narrow you have to expect it. Now, if the birds are working in front of you I'll slow down of course. But even though I know my boat is going to get the bottom scraped up from time to time I am not going to get stuck or run aground just to give you some room. Sorry.
